You may make this creamy red lentil soup dish whatever you like! This recipe can be turned into your own way by adding myriad variations.
Make a chili sauce drizzle: The lentil soups we sampled in Istanbul were wonderful when drizzled with chili oil. Simply melt a few tablespoons of butter (or olive oil), whisk in a teaspoon or two of Aleppo chilis, and sprinkle over the soup in serving dishes.
Garlic isn’t traditionally used in Turkish lentil soup, but I like to add an additional clove or two (pressed or minced) to the veggie sauté for added flavor.
Omit the potato: Some restaurants told us that they thickened their soup using a roux rather than a potato, which you are welcome to do if you want to skip the potato.

Additional time is included for melting butter and preparing to season is hardly 2 minutes. The total time taken for the whole recipe is 52 minutes. In detail, It takes just a few minutes to cook the soup. From the start of cooking to the end of serving, it will only take 30-40 minutes. 5-7 minutes are spent preparing the materials (peeling and cutting potatoes, carrots, and onions), and 5 minutes are spent frying the veggies. Then it’s just a matter of boiling the lentils and pureeing everything once they’re done. Check your soup for a few minutes before removing it from the heat. If it’s too thick, thin it out with 1/2 to 1 cup of water. You want it to have the consistency of a slurping soup, not a thick purée. Despite the simplicity of the cooking technique and the commonplace ingredients, the soup is incredibly healthy, aromatic, and delicious. In terms of money, the soup is basically free. The most costly component is certainly the creamed butter, which may be substituted with vegetable oil if needed.
