Carbon Fiber Composites
With an eye toward the future, Schunk develops carbon/carbon composites, also known as carbon fiber reinforced carbons (CFRC), which are promising materials, showing excellent dimensional stability and an outstanding resistance against thermal shock. As a result of these excellent physical properties, carrying systems, insulation, fastening elements, and heating tubes made of CFRC, felt, and graphite, are increasingly being used in heat treatment furnaces at temperatures of up to 1400°C under inert gas or in vacuum.
